Premiere
November 21, 1995
Opening with a grand bash in New York's Radio City Music Hall on 13th
November 1995, James Bond was well and truly back in GoldenEye, the
first 007 adventure with saturnine Pierce Brosnan in the role. When the
17th Bond film reached the Odeon on 21st November 1995, the future of
Bond was already assured. A BMW Z3 made an appearance as did the stars
of the film as well as Bono (co-writer of the theme song) and Tina
Turner. Prince Charles attended alone after his separation from his wife
and the premiere turned into a confident, swaggering party to celebrate
the return 007. The after premiere party was at the Imperial War Museum
in South London, draped in red banners and the grounds studded with the
Statue Park monstrostities to give a Russian feel to the proceedings.
