FILM STAR Judi Dench and daughter Finty Williams were guests of honour at a gala preview of her new film at Oxted's cinema last week.

Dame Judi, who lives in Outwood, joined a packed house to watch the Importance of Being Earnest at the Screen at the Plaza last Tuesday.

Big Brother presenter Davina McCall, who lives in Woldingham, also mingled with the audience.

Romaine Hart, the managing director of Mainline Picture, which owns the cinema, was also at the screening.
